Post-Contract Administration of Building Contracts
Level 6 Micro-credential (29 credits)
1) Enrolment, identity and eligibility
You confirm your full legal name, date of birth, contact details, and (if known) NSN; you’ll provide acceptable ID on request.
Information supplied must be true and correct.
Admission: you should hold a basic NZQF qualification in a building-related field (e.g., Level 3) or have relevant industry experience; all applications are considered case-by-case.
2) Programme delivery and support
Delivery is fully online via Moodle with formatted text guides, interactive slides, videos, and downloadable Word/Excel resources. You’ll receive one-to-one tutor support via email/Teams as needed. Recommended study time 6–20 hours/week.
The programme comprises five components: Progress Claims; Variation Claims; Frustration/Delay/EOT; Dispute Resolution; Cost Control.
3) Duration and pace
Learning is typically 15–30 weeks; you have a maximum of 52 weeks from enrolment to complete the micro-credential.
4) Assessment and re-assessment
Formative assessment occurs within each component (e.g., quizzes/activities) to support your learning.
Summative assessment follows each component, normally as a written essay; where appropriate this may be a Professional Discussion to ensure authenticity and accessibility. Minimum 50% pass per component summative assessment.
If you do not meet required standards on first attempt, you’ll receive feedback and may re-submit (up to three further attempts where stated).
Appeals: you may appeal an assessment decision by notifying the provider in writing (email) in the first instance.
5) Moderation and quality assurance
Internal peer review of samples of assessments is conducted regularly for consistency.
Periodic external audit of assessment samples is undertaken by a suitably qualified RICS member/registered QS to assure rigour. Your work may be reviewed for moderation/audit under confidentiality
The provider undertakes to:
a) Deliver training and assessment services that meet NZQA’s requirements for the approved micro-credential.
b) Comply with all internal and external quality assurance and moderation processes as required by Clever Buying’s directors and NZQA.
c) Monitor learner progress regularly, with formal check-ins at least every six months to ensure ongoing engagement and support.
6) Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), credit transfer
No RPL is recognised outside this programme; any evidence you wish considered will be reviewed using the current assessment tools to ensure consistent competency standards.
7) Completion requirements and award
To be awarded the micro-credential you must complete all components and pass the summative assessments as specified for each component. Results are recorded and programme outcomes reviewed on a scheduled cycle.
Programme review is scheduled every three years (next review period stated in the application).
8) Use of programme materials and academic integrity
You must use official programme templates/materials unless agreed otherwise with your assessor; materials are copyrighted and not to be shared beyond your study use without written permission.
All submitted work must be your own; authenticity may be verified via Professional Discussion and other measures stated above.
9) Fees, refunds and additional costs
A refund may be requested within 10 days of enrolment (or invoice date, whichever is earlier); after this period, fees are non-refundable in cases of voluntary withdrawal or changed circumstances. Additional charges may apply where repeated non-performance necessitates extra coaching or re-assessment. All fees must be paid in full before results are released and any award/graduation is conferred.
10) Privacy, records and communications
Your personal information, submissions and records are held in confidence in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and NZQA requirements. Progress/completion records may be reported to NZQA as required.
You agree to communicate proactively with your assessor and respond to official communications regarding progress.
